Lessons from a House Fly and a Deer
When I start noticing animals around my house I always take stock into what the reason is for their appearance. What animal lessons are they trying to teach me. Lately there have been two that have been showing up repeatedly. They are the house fly and a deer.
HOUSE FLY
The first one is the house fly. Which honestly I am not thrilled about. In many cultures and belief systems, house flies are seen as symbols with various spiritual significances.
Transformation and Adaptability: Flies often symbolize transformation and adaptability due to their ability to thrive in various environments. They can serve as a reminder that you can adapt and transform yourself to overcome challenges.
Persistence and Resilience: Flies are known for their persistence. Spiritually, they can signify the importance of resilience and the need to keep pushing forward despite obstacles.
Detoxification and Cleansing: Flies are attracted to decay and waste, which can symbolize the need to detoxify or cleanse certain aspects of your life, whether it be physical, emotional, or spiritual.
Awareness of Neglect: The presence of flies can indicate that something is being neglected in your life. This could be a reminder to pay attention to areas that may need more care and attention.
Spiritual energy: Their buzzing around can represent an excess of spiritual energy. I guess it is time to brush up on mindfulness and meditation!
Messages from the Spirit World: In some spiritual beliefs, flies are seen as messengers from the spirit world, indicating that you should pay attention to the signs and messages around you.
Decisiveness and Clarity: Flies see everything in slow motion. By perceiving things more slowly, they can make quick and accurate movements. That is why they are so hard to swat! Fly helps us remember to take the time to carefully consider your options which can lead to better decisions.
DEER
The second visitor is a female doe. When looking at deer I always look to the age of the animal. A fawn represents innocence, and a doe represents gentle mothering. Whereas a buck represents robust confidence.
My visitor is a very young doe. She is very thin and has not matured yet. She is also always alone. A doe being alone can carry several spiritual messages.
Self-Reliance and Independence: A lone doe can symbolize the importance of self-reliance and independence. She encourages you to trust in your own abilities and be confident in handling situations on your own.
Inner Strength and Resilience: A solitary doe embodies inner strength and resilience. It serves as a reminder that you possess the strength to navigate challenges and hardships independently.
Solitude and Reflection: A lone doe can represent the value of solitude and the need for reflection. Taking time to meditate, reflect, and gain deeper insights into your life and spiritual journey. (there’s that meditation again!)
New Beginnings and Transformation: A frequent visit could mean a period of transition, where you are on the brink of new beginnings or personal transformation. It suggests that you are entering a phase of growth and change that requires personal strength and adaptability.
Listening to Inner Guidance: A solitary doe can symbolize the need to listen to your inner guidance and intuition. When alone, the doe relies on its instincts, reminding you to trust your own inner voice and wisdom.
Houseflies and does may seem like very different creatures, but they can both teach us valuable spiritual lessons through their unique behaviors and roles in nature. As I sat with the lessons both these animals hold, I found some similarities between them.
Adaptability and resilience. Both animals teach us the importance of adapting to our surroundings and being resilient in the face of challenges.
Awareness and presence. These animals remind us to stay present and aware, paying attention to the world around us and our inner state.
Survival and resourcefulness. Both creatures teach us to be resourceful and make the best use of what we have, emphasizing the importance of survival skills and ingenuity.
As I embark on a new chapter of my life this year, I find these lessons to be particularly poignant and telling. I can always count on the animal kingdom to point me in the right direction.
