Advice From a Lizard
I was visiting my parents in Florida for Easter this year when I had a short conversation with a lizard, officially known as Brown Anoles.
I was sitting by the pool and my attention was drawn to several lizards scurrying on the lanai screen. They were running and stopping, and running and stopping. I watched them for what seemed like 10 minutes before I tried to connect in to one of the larger ones that was enjoying the sun.
When I tapped into him he had a very interesting message. He said that humans only notice them scurrying about, but if you watch closely they stop and really look around at their environment. He continued to say that this is one thing that humans do not do very often. We do not tend to be in the present and stop and really look around at what is happening in the moment. He said that humans hurry, hurry, hurry.
“Take time to be in the present and enjoy your environment. ”
Humans hurry and do not take time to look around and enjoy the environment in the present. I was in such a beautiful place, that this was very easy to do in that moment surrounded by palm trees and sunshine. It isn’t so easy in our every day lives when responsibilities take up so much time.
The next time you are feeling a bit overwhelmed, take the advice from a Floridian lizard and stop, slow down, bring your attention to the present and enjoy what you can within your environment.
